HEALTHY FUTURES OF TEXAS was established as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation in 2006. Our mission is to reduce teen and unplanned pregnancy in San Antonio and Texas.
We envision a community where (1) young people are empowered to make healthy, informed decisions about sex; (2) planned pregnancies are the social norm; (3) all parents are prepared for the challenge of parenthood; and (4) all children are wanted, cherished and cared for in a healthy environment.
Healthy Futures supports the following projects:
- The Healthy Futures Alliance: a community coalition to prevent teen and unplanned pregnancy
- Big Decisions: a Texas-friendly Abstinence-Plus teen education curriculum
- Parents Have the Power/Teens Have the Tools: education programs to empower parents and teens in our community
- ME NOW…baby later: a campaign for teens
- R U Ready to be a Parent?: outreach to young adults
